Wednesday night I did something that I always imagined doing if I lived in a big city. I know it won't sound exciting to anyone reading this. In fact, it may make me sound like a nerd. But I guess as you get older you care less about that and care more about the things that interest and make you happy. I went to a lecture given by a well known (well, not to me - but apparently in the scientific community) theoretical physicist named Michio Kaku. He is a professor at City University of New York and is co-founder of String Field Theory which is a theory developed to explain the universe and it's foundational laws. I heard him speaking on Coast to Coast AM about a month ago and after visiting his website found that he would be coming to Seattle to promote his book. His lecture was very intersting and easy to understand for the most part. He talked about new findings on the Big Bang and the universe and the cosmos in general. He explained how the universe is expanding at a very fast rate and that eventually it will end in a big freeze. He spoke about black holes and worm holes and possible ways to travel through them to get to a parellel universe or to travel in time. Sounds very science fiction but who knows. I believe that our existence is so special and constructed in such an awesome way by God that ANYTHING is possible. It was all very exciting. It was fun to meet the people who also came to hear Michio speak. The lecture was held in a hall in downtown Seattle. Gloria Steinem was also speaking that night upstairs. Driving home that evening (late for me; 10:30) it started SNOWING which is unheard of down in here in the cities. It was bad. Then as I pulled off the freeway and stopped at a stop light I looked over at a convenience store and there was a car in the lot ON FIRE!

Careful Joselyn, the bible says that there will be deception in the last days. Decieving and being decieved. I know its interesting and fun to hear theories, but dont loose your focus. Its all God , by Him and we'll never understand it all. We see thru a glass darkly. As long as man is alive, he'll be trying to figure creation and explain the world and all its contents, but he cant cause like I said its ALL God, Infinite Creator.
I love your blog, especially the pictures...your taking me to places I'll probly never go! Thank you!
God bless you and keep you!

Gindy, I agree that it is all God's work and no, we will never understand completly how or why he created it. It is amazing to delve into the physics of it though, in fact it makes me wonder and appreciate His work all the more. As for being deceived, I feel like I have been deceived since the day I was born and am still being deceived by the "church" of today. This is why I feel it is important for me to look in all directions for answers to the questions I have about religion.
Jocelyne, I too, was decieved since the day I was born by the 'church" of today. It is in such a sad state, I believe. I can see how you would be disillusioned by it. I, too was disillusioned by it. I only went out of duty, and was proud of myself for putting forth the effort. ---Ah, but when I truly saw Christ, it was a different story!
Praying for ya and love ya,
Carol
